Ideal with cold and hot meats, roasted or stewed white and red meats, medium aged cheeses.

Food pairing:
It’s ideal in combination with first courses rich in seasoning and second processed medium structure. We recommend the pairing with a typical dish of Piacenza cuisine, Pisarei and Fasò.
History of the grape variety:
The Gutturnio is obtained from the Barbera (55-70%) and Croatina (30-45%). The name comes from a silver mug called Gutturnium, found on the banks of the river Po to Cross S. Spirito (Castelvetro Piacentino) in 1878, used by the ancient Romans to drink wine. To learn more about the history of Gutturnio, click here.
Our traditional wines GUTTURNIO, MALVASIA and ORTRUGO participate in the project “ VIVA Sustainable Wine
