OTTIENI UNA SCONTISTICA PARI A:
Pleione - Gutturnio Denominazione di Origine Controllata Classico Riserva
Pleione is obtained from the combined vinification of Croatina and Barbera grapes produced in the best vineyards of the Vineyard of Cantina di Vicobarone for exposure and conformation of the soil.
The age of the plants and the low yield per hectare contribute to obtain a grape with extraordinary qualities and that, harvested manually and wisely vinified, after a two-year aging in large oak barrels, allows to obtain a full and intense wine with hints of red fruit and spices in the finish. It goes well with game, beef and mature cheeses.
Serve at 16° – 18° C.

Food pairing:
it enhances its own characteristics and is in turn enhanced in combination with complex dishes, structured and richly elaborated. We recommend the pairing with the traditional roast Coppa Piacentina.
History of the grape variety:
The Gutturnio is obtained from the Barbera (55-70%) and Croatina (30-45%). The name comes from a silver mug called Gutturnium, found on the banks of the river Po to Cross S. Spirito (Castelvetro Piacentino) in 1878, used by the ancient Romans to drink wine. To learn more about the history of Gutturnio, click here.
