OTTIENI UNA SCONTISTICA PARI A:
Titano comes from a careful selection of Barbera and Croatina grapes, harvested by hand and coming from the best vineyards located in the Vicobarone area, in the heart of the classic Gutturnio.
The favorable exposure, the low yield per hectare and the clayey soil allow to obtain a grape of great roundness which, after crushing and an aging of about six months in steel barrels, becomes a full-bodied wine, typical vinous notes and small red fruits. Titano goes well with starters of cold cuts, rich first courses, roast meats and medium-aged cheeses.
Serve at 16° – 18° C.
Food pairing:
It goes well with traditional cuisine, rich first courses, roast meats. Chef Claudio Cesena from the Antica Osteria della Pesa
recommends pairing with the tasty ravioli stuffed with “Picula ad cavàl”.
History of the grape variety:
The Gutturnio is obtained from the Barbera (55-70%) and Croatina (30-45%). The name comes from a silver mug called Gutturnium, found on the banks of the river Po to Cross S. Spirito (Castelvetro Piacentino) in 1878, used by the ancient Romans to drink wine. To learn more about the history of Gutturnio, click here.
